View from the Heights

So, some months ago, a member of Augusta Heights Church started the idea of “Positive Friday” in an effort to help those around him end some of the typical pre-weekend whining to which we are all prone.

During Lent, many Christians give up meat on Friday. While the discipline of sacrifice is important, we also asked people at our church to add something to their Christian life during the season of Lent. And one of those additions was “Positive Friday,” where everyone is challenged to make a positive difference in the lives of others–and by the same token, themselves. We often do more to help our own spiritual lives when we make an effort to help others.
